one day our world will change. What if today were Day One?

one day our world will change. our communities, our organisations and the people we know and love will all be affected by changes to the climate, to business, the economy, technology and society. how can we be more resilient and bounce back quickly from these coming shocks and stresses in our day-to-day lives?

what if today were Day One? what if we could see what the future has in store for us, and learn to bounce back more effectively? how might we act if that future were now? how can we share this resilient-thinking around the world, and learn from each other’s ways of bouncing back to our best?

From June to September 2015, a light-footed pop-up geodesic dome will travel all over Bristol, from Shirehampton to the Dundry Slopes, from Trooper’s Hill to Little Paradise, from Blaise Castle to the M Shed.

The outside of this dome is illustrated with a panorama of “future” Bristol. With flood plans, tech hubs, Snug Homes, social welfare - and more besides - this panorama draws on research undertaken with people, communities and organisations in the city.

Our future Bristol is realistic and radical, a city which has adapted positively to the coming shocks and stresses of climate change, to shifts in business and the economy, to technological advances and to social change.

Visiting 16 locations over 16 weeks, including one in each of the city’s 14 Neighbourhood Partnerships, members of the public can witness and collectively imagine how they would respond to these changes.

How will our day-to-day lives change? Will the city look different? What kind of work will our grandkids be doing? What will we all do for fun?

Entering the dome, people can film a short video of their thoughts and feelings. These videos will be tagged and shared online every week, and also monthly in 4 prominent public gallery exhibitions around Bristol. Other cities around the world can from Bristol’s thoughts about our days ahead.
